Google shows the importance of SEO for Travel Sites
Thu, 16 Oct 2008 11:16:55 by Emily Mace

So why is SEO so important to travel sites? The travel industry is growing daily on the internet and as Kerry said in her recent post the levels of searches for travel related keywords remains strong.

In response to some of the concerns from users of travel sites last year, Google recently held a conference called ThinkTravel in New York, to discuss the travel market on the internet with the travel industry. At the conference JupiterResearch revealed 94% of travel executives feel that in the next 12 months the return on investment (ROI) for their online marketing will be higher than the ROI for all other types of media. The delegates at the conference discussed the amount of budget they are putting into their online marketing is increasing but they are doing this because of the strong ROI they can achieve from this.

Google announced at ThinkTravel that it will be releasing a new tool to help travel marketers to spot trends on the web to enable them to monitor spikes and upcoming trends in searches on the web, so that travel sites are able to make the most of search trends from their potential users.

With the levels of travel sites on the web growing along with the strength in searches it's no wonder more and more travel marketers are turning to SEO to promote their travel site.
